HWPUD has prepared its Water Management and Conservation Plan (WMCP) to guide the development, financing and implementation of water management and conservation programs and policies to ensure sustainable use of water resources while the District plans for its future water needs.
The Oregon Water Resources Commission (OWRC) has adopted a statewide policy on Conservation and Efficient Water Use (OAR 690-410-0600). The policy requires water suppliers to prepare water management and conservation plans. These rules provide a process to ensure the efficient use of the state’s water resources and to facilitate water supply planning consistent with water supplier capabilities. The OWRC shall evaluate implementation of these rules within the timeframe requirements for the District.
